This is a quick article covering the little mermaid subliminal messages – the assorted hidden pictures and videos you can see in the movie.

This is not a secret by any stretch of the information – these messages have been exposed all over the internet, in forums, and blogs. Disney may want to incldue these messages for various reasons. Naturally Disney usually deny they included any messages and that they are just a coincidence.

Occasionally disney does get trapped into making a statement if the suggestions are especially strong, however they still keep their cards close to their chests and cover themsleves, saying something to the effect of “this was included by designer without the consent of the disney network.”.

They also tend to remove most of the messages from future releases as they are found, but still skeptics say that Disney is fully aware of the hidden messages, and offer various different reasons for why they are included:

• They include sexual messages to help their films appeal to adults – so that the cartoons are not just of interest to children.

• Making a link in any way possible to sex make the movie a little more memorable and even more popular, this is the case even for really slight subliminal suggestions like this.

• It has become a regular part of the design process, it’s even EXPECTED to satisfy a trnd of subliminal message hunting which goes on every time a new movie comes out.

• They bring extra publicity and any publicity is good PR and increases the profile of the movie.
